Matthew Kemp, Parts Supervisor

Matthew Kemp is Princess Motor Yacht Sales’ recently appointed Parts Supervisor.  His role is a vital aspect of Princess Motor Yacht Sales Aftercare Service, leading the team that is responsible for supplying parts to Princess owners and distributors worldwide.

Matthew brings with him an extensive experience gained through a career built in Motorcycle retail; in sales, aftercare and parts, though most recently in the sale of restored classic Porsches.

“I have been incredibly lucky.  When I left school, I was trained as a cabinet maker, but quickly found my true calling and an opportunity to work with Motorbikes which are a real passion.  I haven’t really looked back.  I spent more than 11 years working with BMW Motorcycles, in sales, aftercare, and extensively, as a parts advisor – it’s where I gained the background needed for my new role.»

«Over the last two years, I was involved in the restoration of classic Porsches – the challenge being, in sourcing the parts needed to restore these beautiful cars to their former glory, or work on a bespoke project, re-building a Porsche to the specification of its owner to be.”

And that is where the synergy with Princess lies.  Sourcing a vast range of parts for a bespoke luxury product.

Matthew explains; “I am excited by the challenge.  I hadn’t worked with motor yachts before, but I have been able to learn quickly, bringing my existing experience to the role. It’s my aim to make the department as customer focused as possible, providing both a fast response, and efficient delivery.

“A large part of my role will be in sourcing the relevant parts to a selection of trusted partners and suppliers.  We offer a vast range – from paint and gel coat to propellers.  We ship them worldwide, so we have the knowledge and expertise to comply with complex customs legislation, and maintain the stock levels needed to support our customer network.”

Having been in his role now for just over nine months, Matthew is already making a difference.  Plans for the future include the development of an online ordering facility, automated stock management, and the development of a team around what is a growing department within the Turnchapel Aftercare facility.
