Bruce has been sailing since childhood, from inland and coastal dinghies right through to ocean-going, blue-water passages in the Caribbean.

After completing his studies, he found himself drawn to yachting, joining Moody Yachts as a sales executive before moving to Beneteau as sales manager in 2013.

"I'd always wanted to work at Princess Motor Yacht Sales, having long admired the craftsmanship and quality of Princess yachts," says Bruce. That ambition was realised in 2015, when he joined our Swanwick showroom as a sales executive.

Years spent helping buyers arrange marine mortgages and insurance led him to specialise in the field, and he became finance and insurance manager in 2020. With an in-depth knowledge of providers and the latest marine financial products, he's well placed to give customers clear guidance on the right route for them.

More recently he has taken on the role as Head of Princess Brokerage International - a natural return to the side of the business that drew him in at the very start of his career. Brokerage rewards exactly the qualities Bruce has built over three decades: a feel for the market, an eye for a well-kept boat, and the patience to match the right buyer with the right yacht rather than simply the nearest available one. Combined with his finance and insurance expertise, it means owners on both sides of a sale have a single point of contact who understands the whole picture, from valuation through to funding and handover.

"Every pre-owned boat has a history, and the pleasure is in finding the person she suits next."

What he enjoys most is helping a buyer realise a dream. "It's always a big highlight when you sell a boat. It's never an instant process, so it's hugely rewarding to see a happy buyer after all the work involved in getting there."

Sailing still takes up much of Bruce's own time, and with two children it's a family affair - weekends and holidays are often spent on the water
