The interior of a Princess is built individually by skilled carpenters, and it is one of the reasons owners choose Princess. Over time and through simple use, joinery can become marked or faded, or the layout may no longer suit the way you use the yacht.
Our carpenters repair, renew and add to Princess interiors in a way that respects how they were originally made. New work should look as though it was fitted at the yard.
Gelcoat repair and refinishing. Scratches, chips, stress crazing and fender wear are filled, colour-matched and polished back into the surrounding surface. This includes the darker hull colours, which demand the most care.
Structural composite repair. Where an impact has reached the laminate, the damaged area is cut back to sound material and rebuilt. Full strength is restored before any finishing begins.
Osmosis assessment and treatment. For earlier Princess models, we take moisture readings with the yacht ashore and advise on what they show. Where treatment is needed, the hull is dried and protected with an epoxy system.
Polishing and surface protection. Gelcoat that has dulled can usually be restored. The hull and superstructure are machine polished, then sealed with a protective coating to hold the gloss through the season.
Insurance repairs. We prepare estimates in the form insurers require and deal with the surveyor on your behalf.
No surface on a yacht is flat or square, so every piece is templated on board before it is made. Timber and adhesives are chosen for a marine environment, where joinery must cope with movement and humidity.
Sympathetic work also protects value. An interior that has been carefully maintained, with any changes in the style of the original, is a strong point when the time comes to sell.
