Carpenter – Yachts / Boats – Southampton
We are looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our team in Saxon Wharf, Southampton
The Argo Nautical and Princess Motor Yacht Sales aftercare team are recruiting for experienced Carpenters to work as part of our busy servicing team in Southampton. The ideal candidate must be able to be customer facing, providing a first-class service to our boat owner and reporting to the General Aftercare Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out meticulous paint jobs and paint repair, including prepping, polishing and smart repairs.
- Carpentry, Trim, and Interior linings.
- Servicing and maintenance of hull fittings.
- Deck installation and repairs.
- Glazing replacement and leak testing and repairs.
- Installation of retrofit items
- Ensure that a high standard of Workmanship is achieved.
- To provide back up and support to service teams around Europe where required.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory legislation, Health & Safety and Company Policy and Procedures.
- To ensure customer satisfaction in the service and repair of all vessels
- To carry out servicing and repairs in a safe and economical manner with a right-first-time philosophy.
- To report current and possible future vessel faults and servicing requirements noticed whilst fulfilling a job.
- To ensure vessels comply with safety standards when returned to the customer and that any faults have been reported and noted on the job card.
Experience Required
A full driving license is required for this role. Salary dependent on experience and skill set.
We’d be interested to hear from those with experience in boat building, retrofit, carpentry, joinery, bench fitting, cabinet making and similar skilled tradespeople. You don’t necessarily have to have experience within the Marine sector – if you have a positive attitude and take pride in the highest quality skilled workmanship, and a willingness to learn, we’d love to talk.
